Well, I've decided to run weekly posts about music every Monday. For this week, I decided to put up my top five list of favorite songs, Filipino or English.
Glory of Love by Chicago/Peter Cetera
Countless remakes of this song were made but no one could top the original. I first heard this song when my mom used to sing it on the karaoke. It didn't sound as good but the lyrics is so powerful that its message could be heard even if the singer is mediocre.
I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith
I usually hate songs with non melodic screaming but this one is an exception. The way it sounds and the way it can make you want to raise and wave your hands, as if in a rally, makes me forget all the worry in the world and just listen in for a mere five minutes and five seconds.
Where Is The Love by Black Eyed Peas
Countless remakes of this song were made but no one could top the original. I first heard this song when my mom used to sing it on the karaoke. It didn't sound as good but the lyrics is so powerful that its message could be heard even if the singer is mediocre.
She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5
Countless remakes of this song were made but no one could top the original. I first heard this song when my mom used to sing it on the karaoke. It didn't sound as good but the lyrics is so powerful that its message could be heard even if the singer is mediocre.
The Way You Look At Me by Christian Bautista
Countless remakes of this song were made but no one could top the original. I first heard this song when my mom used to sing it on the karaoke. It didn't sound as good but the lyrics is so powerful that its message could be heard even if the singer is mediocre.

Book Review: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
They weren't kidding when they said that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was and still is THE American literature. The book was supposedly a sequel to another hit book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer but Finn definitely made shone all on its own. Like Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn revolves around a boy in the pre-Civil war era whose mischiefs will eventually turn as a pathway to maturity.
Twists and turns fill the book as you turn page by page. What you expect to happen doesn't but turns out to be something even greater. That's what I thought about this book as a whole, too. I've read and watched too many sequels, in which every plot is expected but not this. Huckleberry Finn, as a character, is lovable, yet rogue. He smokes, he steals, and has a compulsive behavior. Excessive use of the n-word should also be noted by both Huck and all the characters. But by reading this book I realized that Huck's and all of the other character's view towards people of African descent are a product of our flawed system. Equality is a word that never existed those days and may never will.
Being an American literature and all, countless accents were used in the book, which made it harder for me to decipher what they said. Some had the usual Southern accent, some used the English accent but Jim, Huck's black companion, had the most indistinguishable accent. It took me two chapters to realize that "chile" is "child" or that "gwyne" is "going". Nonetheless, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a must read for everyone.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I am unaware of exactly how many words there are in the book but The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn definitely showed the true color of that era more than any picture could, whether it be white or black.

"Proffesional" and "Intelectual"
What did I tell you? I told you I'll get a high grade for my project. A little sweetening always do the trick.
As you see with the paper, my teacher gave me a 23 out of 25 points. It was for timing. The speech was supposed to be 1-2 minutes but my speech lasted for almost 10 minutes. A pro is that my teacher were supposed to subtract 1 point for every extra minute but she lightened up since my speech were very "proffesional" and "highly intelectual."
If you didn't catch it, "proffesional" should be "professional" and "intelectual" should have been "intellectual". This is something that I expected from my History or Video teacher, not my English teacher. But then again, she never did care about spelling in any of our writing assignments. Either that or she really doesn't know how to spell.
You're wondering: why would I care so much about SPELLING. Well, I was 2nd place in our school Spelling Bee and 6th in the regional during 7th grade. On 8th grade, I was school champion and 4th place in regionals. I was never able to go to State's, though. (Sad music plays)

Heads or Tails?
OK, this post will be short since I have to finish my PowerPoint, video for cinematography, exercise, math homework, etc.
As some of you know, May is the election month for most countries. It is also in the Philippines, where "violence and cheating win the polls" and my home country. What I found bewildering about this election in the Philippines was that two people running for the last seat in the council had tied. The election was on a small mountain town, so low voter turnout was expected.
What the two councilman did was even more bewildering. They tossed a coin and bet on either the heads or tails. For me, it didn't matter who won, but the fact that their dilemma was solved with a simple resolution and that sportmanship still existed was heartwarming.

My Italian supermodel teacher
Well, not really but she might as well be one. The girl (or should I say lady) is my English teacher. She's kinda young, too.
So you're thinking...why would I put her head in the body of a [hot] supermodel? Actually it's for my presentation for her class. I'm doing a PowerPoint about how image editing programs affect the photos we see in magazines. I decided to put my teacher's photo to flatter her and increase my chances of getting an A. I mean, who doesn't want to be seen with a sexier body? Basically, this image is like the apple that those "star pupils" give their teachers but this one is like two apples...two BIG apples.
NOTE: There was two "dots" in the chest showing before I edited it out. Remember, this material is for school.
